oculus

Oculus is a Latin architectural term for a circular opening that allows light and air into a building. We have translated this concept into an outdoor object. Few architectural elements have as profound an impact on a space as a mirror. Beyond existing design mirrors created for outdoor use, we present Oculus - a design object that reflects everything above it from a ground-level perspective. The viewer’s position dictates the image: the sky, the tops of trees, or the surrounding environment appear from an unexpected angle. With every step, the field of vision shifts. Its specific angle of inclination creates the illusion of a cylindrical viewing tube that seems to extend deep into the ground.
