While developing the Ensis Bag with Lies Mertens, the idea emerged to translate the bag’s handle into a door handle for her atelier and studio named Patina, Antwerp. It felt natural to continue exploring the same formal language and give it new applications. The timing was perfect since the existing handle was overdue for replacement and posed a threat to finger safety.
